Tools for more clarity in everyday working life
On 24 March, our online workshop Knowledge Snack: Focus and prioritisation is a topic that plays a central role in the everyday lives of many founders and project workers. In a world where we are constantly bombarded with new stimuli and numerous tools, platforms and messages compete for our attention, it is a challenge to stay focussed on the really important tasks.
Especially in the start-up phase or in dynamic project contexts, it is easy to lose focus. That's why this workshop centred around the question: How do I keep an overview - and where should I really focus my energy?
After a brief introduction, the participants discussed specific strategies and methods that can help them to strengthen their own focus and set clear priorities. Among other things, the effects of "Switching Costs"the constant change between tools or tasks, as well as the conscious handling of Triggeringthat influence our attention - be it in the form of interruptions or pauses.
Well-known methods such as the Pomodoro technique or the framework of the OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) found a place in the exchange. It became clear that there is no one-size-fits-all solution - the key is to find the methods that work best for you. so adaptthat they work individually. Or as onee participant formulated: "You have to adapt the methods for yourself so that you get the greatest benefit."
Another quote from the panel was: "It's important to be reminded of certain methods again - you can't hear this often enough or exchange ideas about it."
Our conclusion: The workshop was a valuable opportunity to give each other impulses, reflect on experiences and learn about tools that can be used to improve focus and clarity in everyday life.
