Today we are saying goodbye to our annual intern Jascha, whom we already miss. At the end of his time in the vision culture team, he answered a few questions for us and for you.
Hey, would you like to introduce yourself briefly?
Hello, my name is Jascha, I'm 22 years old and I'm doing a vocational training course as an office management assistant.
What brought you to us?
As part of my training, I completed a one-year work placement at VSK to gain practical experience.
How did that happen?
While looking for an interesting internship, I came across Visionskultur. VSK's website immediately caught my interest. Because of that, I applied and came into direct contact with Hachem and Marc.
What were your tasks? Can you describe your day?
Over time I didn't have any fixed tasks, rather I chipped in here and there, more or less, to help everyone out. Which was still a lot of fun. I didn't really have any favourite tasks, but I really enjoyed working in the funding department.
Does any particular experience stand out in your memory?
Because I spent a year here, it naturally created many moments that I will fondly remember. For example, the warmth of the team. No matter what was going on, you could always communicate everything and solve problems. On the other hand, how lively the Creative Hub was in the summer, that was really cool.
Were you able to learn something you couldn't do before?
Over the 12 months, I was able to take away a lot for my future. Due to the flexibility required, I was deployed for many different tasks. In the process, I was able to further develop my independence, and using MS Office programs is now even more familiar to me.
Of course I also gained experience from the various areas. For example, the grant-making process (from initial enquiry to the final use-of-funds statement), creating website entries, and working with databases.
