Creative Space: Environmental Container Kattenturm - Get Involved!

Background:

Littering and improper disposal have long been problems in many Bremen neighbourhoods. This is often due to a lack of consideration by those responsible, and is also a matter of education and awareness. In some cases, the cause lies in the collection frequency of the municipal companies.

As a new creative space – located in the car park in front of Emil-Richter-Str. 5, 200 metres away from the Bürgerhaus – our Kattenturm environmental container gives you the opportunity to implement your ideas and formats. The container is part of the climate campaign in Kattenturm.

Main topics are: energy saving, waste separation, recycling and waste disposal. The goal: to create a cleaner neighbourhood and greater climate awareness among the people. With the participation of local residents (and especially school pupils), recycling processes are to be demonstrated and implemented in such a way that new opportunities for use are created. In the process, the community, local stakeholders, educational institutions and businesses work hand in hand.

To launch regular initiatives concerning waste, cleanliness and environmental education around the container, further actions and formats can also be devised – together with local stakeholders – such as art projects, film screenings with the container as a screen, open-air panel discussions, ideation workshops, or the involvement of university groups to develop ideas relating to the aforementioned topics.

Get involved and apply with your idea for the free use of the Creative Space! We at Visionskultur will accompany you and your project on site, support offers and connect you with the partners in the project.

Tell us a bit about your idea in the form and come to the Meet & Greet on 19 October, where you'll meet the other community members. Together, we are bringing together various climate and environmental education projects and creating a new creative space in the neighbourhood!

Application deadline: 23. October // Usage/funding period until August 2024

The allocation of spatial funding is based on the evaluation of the idea, its sustainable potential, and its connection to the district.
