Blog post about Heike Seyffarth and her salon
"Art & Non-Art" was an event in the "Art & Co." series, which Heike Seyffarth has been organising since 2018 (https://phototio.org/category/salon/). Here, people interested in art, with or without previous knowledge, can engage with works of art in a low-threshold way, discuss them with others and thus also find access to challenging works.
At the event on 24 January 24, works from the last 200 years were used to discuss what everyone personally understands by art, who can generally determine what art actually is and how it can lead to the exciting transformation of non-art into art (and vice versa).
Afterwards, all those present were able to discuss art purchase decisions by the German Bundestag (https://www.bundestag.de/kunst) in small groups and present them to the group. Interesting and sometimes controversial discussions ensued on financial, aesthetic and social perceptions of art and how they fit into our own value systems.
The next "Art, Money and Gold" salon will take place on 30 May 2024 at 6 p.m. as an accompanying event to the exhibition "Money, Money, Money": https://phototio.org/2024/01/11/salon-kunst-geld-gold-am-30-05-2024/
Are you coming over too?
